This Cotswold wool is from Happy Girl, one of our resident Cotswold ewes. Cotswold sheep were brought to America from the Cotswold Hills of England, possibly as early as 1780, but definitely by the 1830s. This breed is listed as 'threatened' by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy today, because of its low population. This is a long staple wool.

*This item includes two batts, totaling 2.4 ounces and ready for spinning.

*This wool was raised and processed here at Long Creek Mercantile.  Included in the listing photos are a picture of Happy Girl and an example of what this wool looks like once spun into yarn.
